Comment la chirurgie est effectuée du cancer.

Surgeons often use small knives purposes, called scalpels and other sharp instruments to cut their body in the operation. Surgery often cuts the skin, muscle and sometimes bone. After surgery, these cuts can be painful and can take time to recover from them.

Anesthesia prevents you from feeling pain during surgery. Anesthesia refers to drugs or other substances that cause numbness or loss of consciousness. There are three types of anesthesia:

Local anesthesia causes numbness in a small body.
Regional anesthesia causes numbness in a body part, such as an arm or leg.
General anesthesia causes numbness and a complete loss of consciousness appears to be a deep sleep.
There are other ways to perform operations that do not involve cutting with a scalpel. Some of them are:

One type of treatment in which the extreme cold produced by liquid nitrogen or argon gas is used to destroy abnormal tissues. The cryocentre can be used to treat skin cancer in early stage retinoblastoma and precancerous tumors in the skin and cervix or the cervix. The cryocentre is also called cryotherapy.

For more information, see Cryosurgery in the treatment of cancer.
A type of treatment in which powerful rays of light are used to make cuts in the tissue. Lasers can focus precisely on very small areas so they can be used for accurate surgical operations. Lasers can also be used to reduce or kill tumors that can become cancerous.

Lasers are most commonly used to treat tumors in the body surface or lining of internal organs. Examples are basal cell carcinoma, the precancerous lesions of the cervix and cervical cancer, vaginal, esophageal and non-small cell cells.

For more information, see Laser Therapy for Cancer Treatment.
One type of processing in which small body tissue areas are exposed to elevated temperatures. Intense heat can damage and kill cancer cells or make them more sensitive to radiation and certain chemotherapy drugs. Radiofrequency ablation is a type of hyperthermia that uses high-energy radio waves to generate heat. Hyperthermia is not widely available and is evaluated in clinical trials.

For more information, see the use of hyperthermia in cancer treatment.
photodynamic Therapy
A type of treatment that uses drugs responsive to a certain kind of light. When the tumor is exposed to this light, these drugs activate and destroy cancer cells nearby. Photodynamic therapy is most often used to treat or alleviate the symptoms caused by skin cancer, fungal mycosis and lung cancer, small cell.

For more information, see the photodynamic therapy for cancer.
Types of surgery
There are many types of surgery. The types differ depending on the purpose of surgery, the body part that requires surgery, the amount of tissue to be removed and in some cases, the patient's preference.

Surgery may be open or minimally invasive.

In open surgery, the surgeon makes a large cut to remove the tumor, some healthy tissue and possibly some lymph nodes nearby.
In minimally invasive surgery, the surgeon makes several small cuts rather that much. Insert a long, thin tube with a small camera in one of the small cuts. This tube is called a laparoscope. The camera projects images from inside the body to a screen, allowing the surgeon to see what he does. It uses special surgical instruments that are inserted through other small cuts to remove the tumor and some healthy tissue.
Since invasive surgery requires few small cuts, it takes less time to recover than open surgery.
